Um... he landed in a situation where any starting point guard would have won the MVP. To play 40 minutes of running ball, any PG would have put up the numbers. And when you have Amare, Marion, Diaw, Joe Johnson, etc., you're going to win. Stats+wins+popularity= MVP. If I'm the Bulls, I resign Gordon and Deng just to trade them away. Deal Hinrich too.
