I guess some rivalries (feuds) never die.
Via TMZ:
Shaquille O’Neal took the mic at a NYC club last night, unleashing a freestyle verbal assault directed at his arch-enemy Kobe Bryant — blaming his former teammate for ruining his marriage and imploring him to “Tell me how my ass tastes.” [Read]

This video contains foul language.
As a Lakers fan, I can’t wait until LA plays Phoenix next year.
I’m also happy that Shaquille O’Neal is finally being exposed as the classless individual he is. It’s no coincidence that he’s left every team he’s played for on bad terms. O’Neal even took the opportunity to trash Pat Riley and his former Miami Heat teammates when he landed in Phoenix.
Upon being traded, Shaq all but promised another ring for the Suns. He hasn’t retired yet but was ousted in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs. The very same team the Lakers dispatched of in 5 games in the Western Conference Finals.

Wow – what a find.
I think both Shaq and Kobe have some off court issues that they have allowed to affect their games.
Both players are really tainting their legacy.
Do u remember when Oneal lashed out at Bill Walton?
He needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. For anyone who wasn’t kissing Shaq’s ass when he left LA it was clear that he was at fault equally to everyone else involved. He trashed Penny, he trashed Kobe, he trashed the Heat in general yet he’s the one that’s a gross underachiever. What a joke this dude is. Sad even.

wow…
yeah, I am not a fan of this shit. I don’t care if it’s LeBron/Jay-Z feuding with DeShawn Stevenson/Soulja Boy, or Terrell Owens sounding off about ANYTHING, Shaq and the taste of his ass, or Kobe bitching about Bynum and the Lakers front office…its all a new, ridiculous subculture of modern sports – to let lose on camera and say some stupid shit involving another player/team/coach, etc – that is horribly unnecessary.
But hey…now we have a new reason to watch the next Suns-Lakers game, right? And I guess that’s the bottom line, huh…dammit…
and you KNOW the NBA likes it…what about the Heat-Lakers CHRISTMAS games of years past…they were just banking on the feud to draw a crowd…ergh…then they changed it last year because “the feud had died down”.
Should we expect Suns-Lakers at Christmas???
David Stern…you are on the clock.

This is the biggest story of the week for the NBA…

You know, I don’t care much for this. To me, you watch this, laugh at it, and then move on.
I don’t think Shaq is classless for doing this at all. It was a freestyle off the top of his head and he was being silly. Take it as trash-talking Kobe. I don’t think Kobe will take this seriously. Both were “rappers” (it pains me to acknowledge this) and battling is a part of rapping. Shaq came out and dissed Kobe. Big whoop.
Maybe Kobe comes out dissing Shaq now. Fine.
As a society we are so knee deep in the business of telling people what’s appropriate behavior and what isn’t. Who the fuck cares, really? It’s entertainment–take it for what it’s worth and move on.
You know, this isn’t Pacman Jones shit. This isn’t Ahmad Bradshaw going to jail. This isn’t OJ. This isn’t Travis Henry impregnating women left and right. This isn’t Michael Irvin smoking crack in a hotel.
You know what I’m saying? Keep this in perspective.
Allen Iverson said “faggot” in a rap song. Who cares? That’s like a white character saying “Nigger” in a movie. Do we go after the head of the film’s writer? No.
Come on.
Tsunami– you said players need to leave their mouth shut. Says who, you? Who are you to tell anybody else what they can and can’t do? Imagine if someone came to you and said, “hey, we’d like you to change yourself so you fit the criteria of what WE THINK is a good person.” You’d tell them to go fuck off. And you wouldn’t be wrong for doing so.
Sensai– you attack Shaq for this but what about Kobe? Have we forgotten he was accused of rape? Does he get a free pass on cheating on his wife? I mean, to what extent do we turn a blind eye to him, but not to Shaq?
People are people.
Donaghy is a story. This isn’t a story.

A-Train,
Shaq isn’t Iverson. He’s never portrayed himself as Iverson has. Has Shaq ever been arrested for possession of a handgun? Has he ever been arrested for possession of marijuana? Because AI has.
Shaq is supposed to be an upstanding law-man.
No one has turned a blind eye to anything Kobe has done.
But plenty of people have turned their backs to numerous things Shaq has done over the years.
How about when he trashed Penny when he left the Magic?
Or when he mocked Yao Ming and the Chinese language?
And let’s not forget what he had to say about Pat Riley and his Miami Heat teammates when he landed in Phoenix?
The guy is a bum and his true colors are beginning to show.
