I think the Sixers will be a threat to win 50 games in the East. Orlando won 50 games last season.

If he stays healthy and the Sixers can get someone who can shoot (where’s Korver when you need him?), they’ll be tough.

In many ways they’ll be the Eastern Conference version of the Utah Jazz. Very straight-forward, up-and-down, inside-out, with the point guard and power forward dominating the action.

The thing is, they need a dynamic player (as do the Jazz). When the game slows down in the final minutes and it turns into a bunch of one-on-one battles, the Sixers need someone who can create.

Not sure Iguodala–or Josh Smith, if they get him–is that guy. Those two are guys, like Marion, who do damage in transition. Not nearly as effective in the half court.

I’d like to see Michael Redd on the Sixers with Brand and Miller. Mike Miller. Someone like that. Rip Hamilton, etc. A perimeter threat.

They still have work to do. But they will be better.

Good Drop. Brand in the East = 46 to 51 wins, a top 4 seed.
Its gonna be interesting to see how Brand does coming back from this injury.
