Ballin’: Isiah’s 3rd Quarter Performance

On June 19, 1988, Isiah Thomas set an NBA Finals record by scoring 25 points in one quarter.  Eleven of those 25 points came after severely spraining his ankle.  Thomas hit 11-of-13 shots in the period, but the Pistons fell to the Lakers 103-102 and lost the series in the next game.  Thomas may have lost the game, and eventually the NBA Finals, but his 3rd quarter performance in Game 6 was the defining moment of his legendary career.

The three videos below comprise the 3rd quarter in it’s entirety and together, last nearly 30 minutes.

Note: Isiah finished the game with 43 points, 8 assists, and 6 steals.
