On May 16, 1999, Allen Houston drove past Dan Majerle and stepped through the helpside defense of Tim Hardaway to hit a game-winner with 0.8 seconds left.  Houston’s jumpshot gave the Knicks a 3-2 series victory.  New York would go on to become the first and only team in NBA history to advance to the Finals as an eighth seed.

The best season the Knicks have had in the last decade, and it was shortened by a lockout…lol

    I STILL remember that shot.

I loved Kings-Lakers, but Miami-New York was the best rilvary EVER.

    Lakersfan19ii,

    Better than the 80’s Lakers-Celtics?

    Garcia Vega,

Amazing isn’t it? I was a big admirer of the early 90’s Knicks. I love John Starks’ tenacity. He was the one guy who wouldn’t back down to MJ.

Hoff, I never got a chance to watch the Lakers-Celtics. Had to catch it on ESPN classic, and that takes some of the shine off of it.

But I suppose you’re right, most would prolly give Lakers-Celtics the nod.
