Ballin’: Allan Houston vs. Kobe Bryant

On February 16th, 2003, Allan Houston and Kobe Bryant squared off in an epic duel. Bryant scored 40 points on 14-of-31 from the field, 3-of-5 from the three-point line, and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. Bryant’s 40-point outburst was the fifth consecutive game in which he scored 40 or more and the ninth in a row of at least 35. (Bryant scored 40 or more points in nine consecutive games that season and the Lakers were 7-2 during that period.) But Houston topped Bryant with 53 points on 18-of-29 from the field, 4-of-5 from the three-point line, and 13-of-15 from the free throw line to lead the Knicks to a 117-110 win.
