On May 26th, 1997, the Chicago Bulls played the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Michael Jordan played 48 holes of golf the day prior and missed his first 15 shots of the game. Jordan was 1-for-22 heading into the 4th quarter, but scored 18 consecutive Bulls points and 20 of Chicago’s first 21 points in the 4th quarter. MJ finished with 29 points on 9-of-35 from the field, 0-of-8 from the three-point line, and 11-of-13 from the free throw line in a 87-80 Bulls loss. Asked to comment on the game, Steve Kerr said, “Most guys don’t have the guts to keep shooting after missing that many shots. That one performance defines Michael’s arrogance and his confidence.”
