On April 21st, 1988, the Chicago Bulls played the Boston Celtics in the third-to-last game of the regular season. Michael Jordan scored 39 points on 17-of-33 from the field, 0-of-2 from the three-point line, 5-of-6 from the free throw line, and handed out 8 assists. Larry Bird countered with 44 points on 19-of-29 from the field, 6-of-6 from the free throw line, and grabbed 10 rebounds. Bird’s Celtics defeated Jordan’s Bulls 126-119.

It angers me when fools say things like, “Jordan didn’t become a good shooter until later in his career.” Jordan went from being an excellent shooter right off the bat to finishing as one of the greatest shooters ever.
Larry was amazing.
