On February 13th, 1985, Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas met for the first time after Thomas “froze” Jordan out of the ‘85 All-Star Game. Thomas was reportedly jealous of Jordan’s stardom and persuaded his teammates to keep the ball out of MJ’s hands. The plan was leaked to the media by one of Thomas’ business agents and set off years of bad blood between the two superstars. Jordan felt Thomas had tried to embarrass him, and responded by scoring 49 points on 19-of-31 from the field. MJ threw in 15 rebounds, handed out 5 assists and recorded 4 steals for good measure. The Bulls won 139-126 in overtime as Jordan scored 6 of his season-high 49 points in the final period.
